Hope. Help. Healing.
We all tell ourselves a story about our lives. We’re usually wrong, but it’s our story and we’re sticking to it. That is until someone deeply listens to you. Or asks questions that make you think about a situation in a way you’ve never thought about it before. Or offers insights and teaches ways of coping that change your life because they change the way you see your life.
Beyond degrees and training, it’s who the person your therapist is that takes therapy from “okay” to “oh wow!”
Professionally, I'm a psychotherapist. In my private life, I’m a seeker and a lifelong learner. That’s important because a therapist can only take you as far as they have grown themselves. I’ve been helping individuals and couples for the past 25 years discover more joy, depth, and fulfillment in their lives because I’ve taken that journey myself.
My professional journey began in 1998 when I graduated from Rutgers University with a master’s degree in social work. As a licensed clinical social worker, I have a passion
for working with trauma survivors -- which includes all of us who have lived through after living through the events of 9/11 and/or the pandemic. The certifications I have earned address the mind/body connection and heal trauma in a fast, effective manner.

Online Mindfulness Meditation Training
Mondays, March 13 - May 1, 2023
6:00pm - 8:30pm
$600; tuition includes most materials
Mindfulness Meditation Training uses meditation and yoga to cultivate awareness and reduce stress. It is based on the ancient practice of mindfulness, which is about waking up, being fully alive, and embodying presence in the richness of every moment of your life. This awakening enables you to gain access to your deepest inner resources for loving, healing, and coping with stress. Course content is modeled on the acclaimed University of Massachusetts Medical Center Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
In this program, you will practice:
~ Present moment awareness
~ Deep relaxation
~ Gentle mindful yoga
~Observing your reactions to life stressors
~ Choosing how to respond to stress
~ Connecting more fully with yourself, loved ones, and the life you are living
Mindfulness can help you cope more effectively with medical problems, job or family stress, and anxiety and depression. The majority of participants report lasting decreases in both physical and psychological symptoms. Most people also experience an increased ability to relax, greater enthusiasm for life, improved self-esteem, and an increased ability to handle stressful situations.
Hope Honeyman, MSW, LCSW is a Certified Open Heart Meditation Instructor and completed her foundation work in mindfulness at the Penn Program for Mindfulness. For the past 23 years, she has worked extensively with people to resolve anxiety, depression, and trauma.
